TextaDNA aims to develop eco and bio-friendly, low cost, easy-to-implement and use way of storing data into fabrics and textiles as a novel non-volatile memory storage method.
The context
Data keeps growing exponentially, and with it the demand for better storage devices rose. Synthetic DNA is an excellent candidate to answer this need, given its high information density, durability and ensured relevance as a molecule of life.
TextaDNA will develop a complete workflow from encoding digital information into DNA, optimizing their synthesis and encapsulating the molecules into biocompatible and biodegradable nano and microfibers.
