Pearl-DNA invited at CiC NanoGUNE for a seminar on error correction startegies.

Jan Voges, currently based at UNAV Pamplona and part of the Pearl-DNA project was invited on February 6th, 2025 by TextaDNA members to present a seminar at CiC NanoGUNE, titled «Error Correction for Robust DNA Storage Systems.» Jan gave a lecture on error correction startegies used for digital data, in the context of DNA data storage in particular, covering block-by-block as well as base-by-base synthesis for robust systems. The Pearl-DNA project was presented to an audiance of TextaDNA members and scientists working at NanoGUNE.

The seminar was followed by a more in-depth discussion between both projects, sharing ideas and advice stemming from varying scientific backgrounds. The day wrapped up with a lunch at a typical spanish basque country ciderhouse, and a tour of the NanoGUNE labs.

This event was organized to foster interactions and potential collaborations between portfolio members, following an intial discussion during the first DigNA meeting in Munich on June 2024, and will be successfully followed by a visit of Texta in Papmplona!
