EIC-ERC Ekimena initiative in Donostia – San Sebastián

Our project coordinator Ibon Santiago participated in the “EIC-ERC Ekimena” initiative promoted by the Basque Government’s Department of Science, Universities and Innovation, Ikerbasque, and Innobasque, held on July 23rd at the San Sebastián Aquarium.
The event, framed within the Basque Country Science, Technology and Innovation Plan 2030 and the Innovation Hubs strategy, brought together representatives from the European Research Council (ERC), the European Innovation Council (EIC), the Center for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI), and Basque entities benefiting from these programs to share experiences and offer key insights for preparing competitive proposals. Ibon presented our TextaDNA project, funded under the EIC PATHFINDER CHALLENGES 2022 call and member of the DigNA Portfolio, part of a broader European Union strategy that brings together scientists, innovators, and companies to boost the DNA-based data storage ecosystem. Ibon contributed in the roundtable discussion, sharing his experience as coordinator, the main challenges in preparing a competitive proposal, as well as the results obtained, the achievements to date, and future prospects.
